A Channel Drain on the Second Floor
A couple months ago an old customer of ours came to me with a very odd problem. Spoiler alert, we solved the problem with a channel drain. After this home owner had another company install a really nice decorative concrete patio above their garage water started pooling around the exterior wall of the house. During heavy rains this water would eventually start to seep down the wall and into the garage. This was either due to settling or to improper installation of the concrete or settling after the fact. Either way the best solution was to install a HDPE channel drain to carry the water away from the low area. This drain would convey this water to the gutter over the garage door. Normally we are working at ground level with concrete saws and excavation equipment installed in front of the garage doors. The access constraints, hand labor and cutting into brand new, really nice concrete did not phase our team one bit. We took our time and surgically installed this new drainage system into the existing concrete. The final product looked great and will work for years to come. Notice in the photos how much care is taken to prepare the area and during clean up. This level of attention to detail is just one of the many things which set Higher Ground apart from other drainage companies.
