Why do I have overflowing gutters?:
Overflowing gutters in Chattanooga can be caused by many maladies. Oftentimes overflowing gutters are caused by a clogged downspout. Normally this is at the top of the downspout where it meets the gutter. In this case a gutter cleaning is the solution. Less often we see overflowing gutters due to the downspout elbow being clogged. In this case the downspout will need to be dismantled to unclog the downspout.
If you have clean gutters and downspouts and the water is still overflowing them a repair may be required. In Chattanooga gutters come loose for many reasons. Maybe a branch hit the gutter, maybe the weight of the water being held in the gutter caused the gutter nails or screws to pull loose. Maybe the fascia, roof, or foundation have settled to form a low spot in the gutter. In any case Higher Ground has a gutter repair solution for our Chattanooga neighbors.
If the gutters are clean and flowing water in the right direction it is possible that the water is not making it into the gutters. In this case either raising the height of the gutter and downspouts or installing valley shield flashing is the best course of action.
